Ogun Embarks on Measure to Boost Trade

 Ogun State Government has promised to collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the state towards reducing the incidences of trade bottlenecks along Nigerian trade routes.The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Otunba Bimbo Ashiru stated this at a forum organized by the state government in collaboration with the German Agency for International Cooperation on ways to facilitate trade in the state.

Otunba Ashiru, who condemned the level of harassment meted on the traders on the roads by unscrupulous security agencies, said government was working hard to put and end to the trend.
The commerce and industry commissioner noted that the favourable economic policies of the present administration had put the state among the top ranked five business-friendly states in the country.
He appealed to various security agencies in the state to enforce the laws with the human face. Also speaking, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Chief Jide Ojuko, expressed the hope that with the synergy with the stakeholders the state would become a business destination of choice for the traders.
The security agencies at the forum, including FRSC, Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency, TRACE, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Customs Service, promised to work with the traders to rid of illegal roadblocks of the way.
Earlier, the German representative, Mr Alex Werth, who thanked the Ogun State Government for the atmosphere provided for the team said the German government would continue to partner the state towards the growth of small scale business.
